I try to not be happy when people suffer, because I believe we should all be working to reduce suffering for everyone and not increase it for others (even if they are “those people”), but sometimes it’s really hard…

The rich and powerful suffering in kind for all the suffering they’ve caused should be the norm. When it’s the exception, not the rule, I savor every moment as it’s much too fleeting.

He absolutely did and does, no doubt about it. But it’s him suffering going to fix any of that or improve the lives of people he and his goons destroyed? I don’t know what to think about it, it’s too philosophical for my small monkey brain…

He is still causing suffering. The sooner he goes down and stops ruining lives, the better.

Well if his self-inflicted suffering makes him stop an iota of what he’s doing on Xitter or with DOGE, then yes, it will improve the lives of others.

his suffering is self inflicted. there is a way for his suffering to end and it’s to learn hoarding all the wealth in the world and all the power has not and will not make him happy

Sure, but doesn’t that make you (and me too, since I actually grinned and felt really good about this initially) very similar to him and US republicans in general? Celebrating the “right people” being hurt?

I don’t have an answer, I find it super hard to not hate the other side, but I don’t think it’s healthy or productive, and it doesn’t really help anyone… Having said that, it does feel like at least the beginning of just punishment, doesn’t it? I just wish people stopped being total dicks to each other and we didn’t have to punish anyone… :(

It doesn’t make us particularly similar in my opinion, the reason is why we take satisfaction from his suffering. I don’t know about you but to me it is due to righteous anger, he has hurt innumerable people both directly and indirectly that frankly speaking I don’t think there is a way for him to pay. His suffering and hopefully his death won’t be some grand recompense it’ll be a chore like killing a weed.

As for the rank and file, I don’t hate em. They are victims of pointless propaganda and bullshit and frankly deserve better than their given lot. That is what separates me from them, while I don’t give a damn about collateral I also don’t wish to create it unduly. I remember folks cheering as the cities were first hit by covid, I don’t feel any satisfaction from folks getting fucked over like that.

As for Musk in particular I doubt if I got to lash him to a cross that I’d feel particularly good, frankly speaking id probably feel like shit. But well I’d be doing a chore one that I think needs doing, if Musk did the same to me it’d be a flash of pleasure for him before he moves into his next high.
