I’m from England and it’s not often you see English players shine when they go to other leagues, I just wanted to know what you guys thought of him.

First off: I thought he was way too expensive for his age and one year of contract left.

Anyway: I was wrong. Great guy, doing his all, pushing the team and a scoring machine.

Spurs here just checking in. Because you know, kanes a club legend.

I was saying this to all Bayern fans at the time. I think people didn’t get how good he is, but spurs fans did. Regardless of age and contract he was by far and a way the best way any club the world could spend £100m that summer - apart from Bellingham.

I think now the dust has settled post saga. It’s just a good deal for everyone.

      • We got a HG legend who was our stop scorer 10 years in a row and record goal scorer & we look are doing well without him.

      • He left at 30, for a decent fee to go and play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

      • Bayern got one of the best players in the world, for a fee they can afford.

        kanes a club legend.

Formerly a Spurs fan. From how some treated him, I disagree he is being seen as a club legend.

I had him marked as a really good, far ranging striker and wasn’t disappointed so far, quite the opposite.
What I was in no way prepared for was his leadership skills, his football IQ and his skills on the ball when he drops into midfield. - I’m kinda wowed by this. It’s also really crazy to think that he didn’t move beyond Tottenham so far… i’m sure he could have had a far bigger career in terms of successes/trophies.

It would have been crazy if he stayed with us until retirement. You don’t really see that anymore however I feel like we should be thankful for the years we actually got with him. Tottenham would have probably finished lower mid table without him last year at best.

Expected him to score a lot of goals.

Checked off that box easily. In addition he brings great playmaking ability. Only negatives I’ve noticed so far is his speed (which he was never known for) and the lack of pressing up front but that might also be on Tuchel’s system

Probably the system. Harry Kane usually has really good work rate, but he’s also been relegated to terrorist ball for the past 3 something years since poch got sacked.

If he was fast he may not have developed his reading of the game so much.

Klinsmann said Sheringham was the most intelligent strike partner he played with. Sheringham attributes his intelligence to his slow speed. He had to learn to be clever because was slow.

I kind of like that he’s not that fast, he isn’t depending on his speed which will drop over the next few years, he definitely has some years left at his level

Honestly i think apart from goalscoring he seems to be the leader in the group and with youngsters like Jamal and tel its important

Yeah he has absolutely clicked with Tel. Seems like anytime Tel scores, the first person to him with the biggest smile is Harry.

That duo with Tel is such a dream for us, Tel can’t have a better guy as his leader in every way, personal and on the pitch.

his scoring ability is known to everyone but what i also noticed is how he’s not selfish at all… he loves passing and assisting, he clicked with sane and muller immediately, it’s impressive

once his family moves in here and he gets even more comfortable i think it will be even better, because it’s not like we depend only on him right now

I had high expectations and he even topped them. Seems to be an incredible nice guy and I personally never saw a more clinical finish at Bayern, almost like a laser pointer or sth. like that. How he use his body while preparing the shot, the defenders have no chance and you just know, that he will score in the next moment. Robert was incredible for years and he had other strengths, but this quality in shooting on target, always right next to the post 👌🏻 Just incredible to watch. He also could be a great midfielder I think. He just gives so much to the team, also as a leader on the pitch. I really enjoy watching him and I am a little bit afraid that we might play against him next year in germany, If he keeps his form (Euro 2024)😆

He’s on record saying that he feels comfortable playing as a 10 because that’s what he played in the youth setups before he became a striker. He’s a great mixture between midfield playmaker and strike- very versatile footballer.

Honestly, I would’ve been happy with 25-30 goals and 10 assists in all comps for a first season. I knew he was elite and he’s still exceeding expectations.

I thought he was going to do okay, because Lewy set the bar very high for everyone else. Turns out he might be surpassing him and even winning the Ballond’or. He should’ve been here way before Mane that was a mistake.

I’ve watched enough of him over the years to know that he was a damn good player, even though he didn’t always look the part. I did not know that he would be THIS good. Bayern is the perfect fit for what he does. He’s got in seamlessly on the pitch and, more importantly, in the locker room as well.

My expectations were high as they should be for a player that cost a 100 mil. I knew my friends that watch Premier League held him in a very high regard. And holy shit did he exceed those expectations thus far.

I’ve been a Kane fan for a while so I knew about the exceptional footballing IQ & leadership skills in addition to the finishing and wasn’t very concerned that he won’t work out.

What surprised me was to learn how much he chose and wanted to come to Bayern. It made him feel immediately part of the family to me. So stoked about watching Kane become a Bayern Legende!

To add a bit of a different take than the other comments so far:

Im really happy with his goalscoring. I expected a world beater and we got one but with transfers you can never be sure so im really glad he kept his level for Bayern.

On the other hand though, disappointed is too strong of a word since he is still new and it takes time to gel with the team, but still i kinda expected more on the playmaking side.

Hes still involved but sometimes it feels like games kinda go past him until he pops up with a goal or two. I dont think its really his fault either but i have yet to see the amazing passes and playmaking capabilities Tottenham Fans were raving about.

His playmaking has been fine and i dont mean this as critique, more that i think there is still a lot more to expect from Kane, aside from goals and im looking forward to it.

Really happy with how he started here of course

As I don’t follow english football much, I really hadn’t a big opinion.

But man, what a catch. Fantastic striker, fantastic football player, and seemingly a based dude who has the respect and full support of the whole team. Magnificent transfer.

I follow the Premier League since many years, so I would say I had a good understanding of his capabilities. So I was a bit surprised about the rumors. I mean the England captain & record scorer leaving his comfort zone for the frequently disrespected Bundesliga… wow. Due to Levy’s tactics and only one year left in his contract, I thought the deal would collapse and he joins whatever top team (maybe Real) next year for free. With every striker no matter the name or club, there is the expectation of goals. And oh boy he is delivering those. He‘s still living in a hotel without his family, not fully settled and yet is having such an impact. Not only on the scoresheet, but also with clever anticipation and passes… I’m just glad he’s here and I hope he can get some silverware with us. A player of his caliber deserves that.
