The blow-up is imminent. While it’s not likely that everyone gets shipped out, in a world where they are all traded away, where do they all realistically end up?
My own opinions:
-
Zach LaVine to the Miami Heat.
-
DeMar DeRozan to the New York Knicks.
-
Nikola Vucevic to the Memphis Grizzlies. (Vucevic to the Phoenix Suns for Jusuf Nurkic also works almost too perfectly salary-wise.)
-
Alex Caruso to the Cleveland Cavaliers. (I also like the idea of Caruso to the Timberwolves to solidify their defense even more, but not sure how they can make that deal work.)
Manchester United. Have LaVine up top with Hojlund or have him do what Ten Hag is currently trying to do with McTominay. Caruso slots in at Left Back or defensive mid, DeMar on the Right and Vucevic can slot somewhere in our CB rotation, as jumbled as it is now.
Whoever gets demar is gonna regret it unless tanking
Caruso to (insert contender here)
Bucks need him the most among contenders. Philly could use him as well.
Caruso prolly gonna fetch as much as Demar
all 4 to the wizards
Lavine to New York or Brooklyn
Derozan to the Lakers
Vucevic to Dallas
Caruso to Milwaukee
Derozan to the Lakers
No.
Vuc in Dallas would somehow make the Mavs worse defensively than they already are
Yes Timberwolves would be a great fit for Caruso
Alex Caruso would take Mike Conley’s spot, although I’m not sure how good Caruso is at point guard vs shooting guard.
Having a team play Barrett, Derozan, Randle, and Mitchell Robinson would certainly be interesting basketball…
82 9/11’s
Horrible to watch
I think it’s more likely we trade quickley, fournier and picks for lavine
Why would the Suns trade Nurk for a turnstile
Wouldn’t hate Vuc on the Thunder to help solve the rebounding problem. He’s not exactly a sniper but can keep a defense honest from 3.
But, that doesn’t seem likely to happen unless it’s closer to the trade deadline
Vuc for Bertans with a couple of 2nd round picks makes a lot of sense, especially if the Thunder are looking like real contenders near the trade deadline. 3/$60M is a very manageable salary number and he gives enough rebounding/scoring while Chet plays a supersized 4 as the rim protector. He’s then off the books right when Chet/JDub are up for new contracts. I’m just skeptical it happens unless it looks like the West is super wide open (eg something catastrophic like Jokic and Curry both having season ending injuries) and the Thunder could do more than just make some noise in a first round series.
Why would the Knicks want Derozan?
Lavine to the Knicks
DeRozan to the Lakers
Vuc to the NetsCaruso to the Kings
Caruso to the Clippers
Give us Caruso, Brad loves to double down on a team’s strength.
I also wanted Drummond before the season started, but Kornet has been pretty good in that role.
Plz my beautiful bald eagle come home to me.
