I barely watch any Pelicans games, but when I do…I see the two best players on the team in Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson having no chemistry together? Zion is supposed to be the best player on the team right? Then why is Ingram shot chucking so much? Isn’t Zion supposed to be a point forward? Why is he not doing that much ball handling duties? I don’t know much about the Pelicans, but from the eye-test how good are the Pelicans? These two seem like they should be versatile players who can do a little bit of everything, but they are not? Do you think Ingram and Zion are good duo?
The problem is they kind of both want to operate in the same space. You can’t have BI posting up for turnaround jumpers with Zion in the lane.
Nope. Neither of them can stay healthy.
Also I just noticed that Ingram has played 420 career games.
No they can’t stay healthy
Ingram has averaged 23.7/5.6/5.0 on 29.0 USG% over the last 5 years. He’s not “chucking”, he’s meant to be their top scorer and playmaker at the same time.
No, they need a point guard to unleash them. And CJ is not a PG.
I don’t watch 100% of Pelicans game so take this with a grain of salt, but both have been kind of disappointing this year. Brandon Ingram seems to have mostly plateued. He really hasn’t seemed to take a step past the borderline All-Star player, which is perfectly fine not every player can be a bona-fide star. The big problem is if Ingram isn’t going to play incredibly well they need Zion to be the #1 guy. So far this season Zion hasn’t been the efficiency monster that he had been in the past. He has been fairly inefficient in Post-ups and other spots that he usually would dominate. So between the two of them, they dont really have a good number 1 guy right now which usually separates mediocre teams from good teams. Maybe Zion can get back into rhythm, but until that the Pelicans aren’t going to do much.
Zion don’t play enough for them to be a duo
Awful duo. Their games have no synergy whatsoever also Zion looks bad this year. Hes not the same player he used to be
They’re arguably the greatest glass duo
