No and it’s a reason for a lot of the outlier results where points allowed diverges from yards against.

It was after half time against the Bears. Fields hung 28 in the first half & then it felt like we saw a different defense in the second. It’s been upward since then. Kudos to VJ.

The fact that our offense is dick, and our defense gives up this many yards really amplifies our record being an anomaly. I think most people assume we have an elite defense when its really just been Watt and Highsmith. Dashes of cam and minkah but both have missed time

Points can be deceiving though. For example, the Ravens had 31 points against the Browns Sunday.

However, that doesn’t properly describe the Browns defensive performance.

The Ravens only scored 17 points on actual offensive drives. 7 of those points came on a pick 6, and another TD came on a muffed punt that gave the ball to the Ravens all the way on the 11 yard line. Which, on a side note, shouldn’t have even scored in the first place since the refs took a Lamar INT in the endzone off the board with a completely bs holding call on a 3rd down play.

Scoring matters in each game, but yardage can be a very good indicator of games going forward.
