Since Saddiq Bey was traded on February 12th, 2023 the Pistons finished that season 2-23, with both wins coming against the Indiana Pacers. They have started 2-10 this season, with wins against the Hornets and Bulls.
Obviously this isn’t about Saddiq but it’s a wild stat nonetheless.
I don’t think losing Saddiq was responsible for all those loses, but it still feels like a weird decision to me.
He was only 23 when they traded him, and still possesses quite a lot of upside imo. He’s also a genuine wing, and the Pistons are overloaded with young guards and bigs.
I don’t think he really has that much upside besides being a 40% shooter. He was going to need his new contract and he’s not really a 3&D.
