    I appreciate the proactivness in creating a new community. But not sure if there is a much a point here except in splitting communities up.

    Because we already have !atheism@lemmy.world !atheistmemes@lemmy.world Which are quite active

    and even !atheism@lemmy.ca which has some activity.

    I’m all for moving the lemmy.world community to lemmy.zip to encourage decentralisation (world is by far the biggest server), but I suspect you’ll have a bit of a struggle convincing the mods of that?

        So, I just kind of got asked by someone to keep an eye on that community, because nobody else was. I think I’ve only ever had to remove one comment that was out of line.

        It is pretty active though, and there are over 4k subscribers. I’m open for arguments as to why we should recruit from scratch over here, but I think it makes more sense to build on what we already have.
