Former President Jimmy Carter paid tribute to his wife, former first lady Rosalynn Carter, in the wake of her death on Nov. 19. They were married for 77 years, the longest of any first couple.
I suspect he’ll join her soon now. I know I would if I was that age and my lifelong partner goes before me.

I can’t even imagine what it’s like to lose your partner of over 70 years. Especially when it was so clear there was so much love between them. I don’t want him to die, but I sympathize if he doesn’t want to live anymore.
