    The UK, the EU and soon the U.S. making it mandatory to give your ID when you want to see anything “NSFW”.

    Maybe also payment processors folding before puritan christian nationalists.

        I know, thats whats so fucked up about it. It is advertised as “protecting children” (as always) but just ends up as a censor, ignoring the fact that tech savy people of any age can circumvent this. It is population control, as the masses won’t realize whats happening. Disgusting.

      Thank you. I did read some of the news. Just wanted to know if I missed something.

      Unfortunately, I can already see the term “NSFW” being abused to fit whatever narrative the governments.

      Moreover, it is setting a dangerous precedent for rest of the world, especially countries already leaning towards fascism.

      Or visiting trans or other LGBTQ reources. Or aborion, mental health, autism, or whatever else they decice to persecute next.

      This isn’t just a threat to what they don’t like now. We’ve seen how Trump turned perfectly normal things into targets. It’s a threat to whatever they decide they don’t like in the future.

      That seems very different from social media & opt-ins to data brokers of browsing activity, public information, voluntary information, metadata.
