If you could only use one lens for the rest of time what would it be?
Canon FD 35-105 3.5
A fast 35mm (or 23mm on crop).
400mm f2.8
Voigtlander Ultron 40mm f2 Nikon F mount.
I have the 40mm 1.4 Leica M mount and love it. I am sure the Nikon F mounts are also a dream.
How does this compare to a 50mm or 30mm 1.8? Besides the obvious focal distance.
Don’t know actually. Mr.Leica on YT has a video about the Voigt and compares it to a whole lot of other Nikon 50’s.
I’ll see that and up you to the 35mm f/1.7 LTM.
I have Nikon F-mount film cameras so I haven’t looked at anything else than F-mount.
Oh certainly, wasn’t suggesting you should have, but the 35/1.7 is just 🤌🏻
Shooting mostly sports and sports related imagery I would have to say my 70-200mm 2.8
Leica Summilux 28mm 1.4 Asph
I have one and it’s unreal how crisp it is. Love it!
35mm f2.0 on my DSLR
or 105 F2.0 on my Pentax 6x7
Although I love love the 55mm F1.7 on the Fujifilm GFX IIs
Is it the Canon 35mm f2 IS?
Xf 23mm f2. Small light good image quality and I like the focal length
Nearly the same choice, but I really love my XF 23mm f/1.4. Fuji makes some truly great prime lenses.
GL ever doing portraits
This is my favorite lens for my Fuji XT2. I like to take street photos, particularly when traveling. As a 35 mm (approx) equivalent it is great for that.
35mm f2.0 on my DSLR
or 105 F2.0 on my Pentax 6x7
Although I love love the 55mm F1.7 on the Fujifilm GFX IIs
Jena sonnar 135mm
With changing formats and mounts there really isn’t one, but I always come back to fast 50 and 135 primes. Canon L or Sony GM equivalent.
Olympus 40-150 f2.8 Pro. Not quite an all-purpose, but love the range and the character when you run it wide open.
I have this lens and the 12-40 f2.8 pro. Both are amazing.
Laowa 100mm 2x macro. If the 60mm 2x was manufactured with an automatic shutter I’d switch to that.
The 85mm laowa macro is awetoo
I switched from Nikon to Canon a couple years ago. Bought RF lenses, where before I had regular 1.8 prime lenses. I splurged, and one of the lenses I bought is the 85mm 1.2 which is hands down one of the sharpest lenses I’ve ever seen, and at 1.2 gives a sort of medium format look to portraits. I’ll have this as long as I’m on the RF system.
Nikon af-s 58mm 1.4 G. I wish Nikon made this lens native for Z mount.
Oooh this lens is beautiful. What’s your favorite picture taken with it?
