ADs not that dude that’s why…

It’s been a long time since he’s been in the Jokic, Embiid, Giannis conversation.

He’s very good but clearly not on their level.

    sort of kind of

    one on one, yeah

but as a roamer, he did great, which probably is the best way to play Jokic for any team

Jokic last year had 0 instances where in back to back games he shot below 50%

vs lakers when they went to AD roam, LeBron/Rui guard Jokic, he had back to back to back under 50% shooting games, .534 TS those last 3 games

Jamal having an all time wcf is what put Denver over

Jamal had an all time WCF… specifically because AD played off Jokic. Neither Lebron nor RUI could get to the level of the screen fast enough to pressure Murray. Lebron guarded Jokic a 4th quarter didn’t allow any points to Jokic and the media made a huge deal about it, then the Lakers never went back to it. Which I believe they went back and watched the tape and saw how Denver targetted Lebron on the pnr.

Dude. Lakers gonna get wrecked by Davis and Jokic. No way they can handle that duo. Nightmare matchup for sure.

The 2020 Lakers had McGee and Howard. Didn’t stop Jokic but they just kept punching him in the mouth. That’s something you need to wear out Jokic. Guys like him, your best defense is getting away with multiple fouls and hope the refs don’t call it.

Playstyle wise, Jokic neuters all of AD’s best qualities. He removes AD’s paint protection and offensively, he’s thick and strong enough to be a logjam in front of AD.

This is such a dumb post. The rest of the Nuggets killed us much more than Jokic individually. How can AD be expected to guard an MVP while also making up for Reaves/DLo getting cooked off-ball AND keeping Aaron Gordon and MPJ off the glass. Ridiculous expectations.

Yeah, it wasn’t even Jokic’s best series IMHO since the Suns series was his most dominant. It was more of how Jokic taking out AD’s defense in the paint by just being so much bigger and stronger than him enabled the rest of the Nuggets to go crazy attacking the rim, which caused the Lakers over load the paint and made Denver’s shooters go crazy too.

Jamal Murray was looking like Kobe Bryant averaging 33/5/6 on 53/43/95

Any team whose defense heavily relies on a big to defend the paint falls apart when faced against an offense that goes through a big like Embiid or Jokic.

Lakers are outscored by a ton this season when Davis plays without LeBron on court. I’d say one nightmare matchup in the league is far from the main issue here. Davis will just always need a specific, kinda-hard to get combination of players around, when Jokić needs guys that are easier to come by. Their skills when they stand next to each other are not some main problem for Lakers in my feel.
