Great look from the other face of Washington’s franchise, publicly supporting good guy Miles Bridges after all that he’s gone through recently (one felony count of causing harm to a parent of a child and two felony counts of child abuse)
It’s actually insane how much lead levels correlate to how much crime is committed in an area
The levels of lead in gasoline at the time are thought to be one of the main contributing factors as to why we had an explosion of serial killers in the 1970s
I see this a lot, but idk how well supported it is. The insane crime rates and changes in crime level from then to now are some of the most studied societal phenomenons and there have been a shit ton of theories. I don’t think there is anything approaching a consensus.
Surely that’s more to do with socio-economic factors being associated with crime and also lower socio economic areas to get worse water
Probably, but the lead is just a correlation, not causation
I’m tempted to agree with you but then I think about all the crime that rich people do that we just don’t call crime in the same way.
Lead exposure lowers IQ and impulse control, so it definitely plays a part
You’d be surprised. The lead paint and gas correlation holds up to what they’re saying well independent of socio economic status. Or at least it did when I studied this 20 years ago.
Same here but studied it five years ago
