This might not be very popular, but Joel Embiid is currently leading the league in PPG at 31.9 ppg. He is having another really good season.
Rounding out the top 10:
-
KD (31.4 ppg)
-
Luka Doncic (30.5 ppg)
-
SGA (30.4)
-
Giannis (29.7)
-
Steph (29.7)
-
Jokic (28.2)
-
Jayson Tatum (27.8)
-
Anthony Edwards (26.7)
-
Tyrese Maxey (26.3)
This list matches the eye test very well.

No one really thinks of Embiid as an all-time great scorer (yet), but 3 straight scoring titles would place him in truly elite company
he is a great scorer, but I think for me the big thing is that he is not an all time great scorer in the playoffs
Embiid in the 2nd round averages 23.6 on 43/29/82 splits. Forget great, he isn’t even a good scorer in the playoffs
People hate the truth
If Lebron, Durant, Curry, or Jokic averaged 23.6 on 43 from fg and 29 from 3 they’d be crucified by this sub
He also has the 3rd highest career PPG in NBA history currently.
