Having Dame drive is a game changer in the 4th. He gets the ball on our side, and you don’t have to be scared out of your mind what is going to happen, and teams are scared to foul him.

Before you know it, he is already at the other side, driving to the paint, drawing contact and going to the line.

And if things don’t work, you have an elite passer to organize your offense in the clutch. Which is as big for us because Giannis feeds off of that and is feasting in the clutch.

If we are not the most clutch team in the league, we are close to that.

What’s more important is that there’s still huge room for improvement, all around.

This is an incredibly random thing to post on a thread about Embiid’s free throws

I tried to reply to a comment about Dame’s FT, but it went to the main thread. Thanks for pointing this out.

You’re welcome? For what it’s worth, I think Dame and Giannis still need to build chemistry before their 2 man game is a potent clutch time weapon. They haven’t done well against other contenders thus far

They haven’t done well against other contenders thus far

Our only loses have been to the:

            • Raptors: One of these games. Also, back when we still switched with Brook on the court, which was nonsense.
            • Hawks: Still played switch defense with Brook, and it was objectively a bottom-3 defense in the league.
            • Pacers: Outscored us by shooting the lights out.
            • Magic: The Magic played great. Good win for them.
            • Celtics: Our big-3 couldn’t buy a bucket, and still came down to the wire.

So, other than the loses in which we played which defense with Brook on the floor, which ones were not good? Also, what contender apart from the Celtics we lost to?
