Hello peeps. I have a question regarding the pickup of the framework package in Germany. Does the person that was put down in the delivery address also has to sign for package, or can someone else from the family also sign? Also, if nobody picks up the package, is it possible redirect package to some kind of pickup point? I preorded package to my moms address and name, but I just found out that there is a possibly that she wont be home around the dates od delivery, so Im condsidering my options. Thank you.
It will be given to neighbours or they’ll try again the next day. I think if they are unsuccessful for multiple days they’ll call you to arange something. You can also just call the fedex helpline and you can pick it up at the nearest facility. That facility might be very far though.
It comes via FedEx in Germany. And at your door they hand it to you and don’t need a signature. At least that what‘s was with my first package.
Had to get some replacement as my FW keyboards had a short. So the replacement was a bit more nerve wrecking. The driver came 3 times always when I am not at home. After 3 time FedEx contacted me via phone to schedule a new date for delivery. But I guess there was an overlap as the driver didn’t come. I already had requested to pick it up at their hub via e-mail so I guess the driver got cancelled after my mail was processed. And then I went to their hub when the notification mail came I can pick it up.
Afaik they have to sign the package. If you gave your moms adress your mom is the one who will actually need to sign. On the other hand, mine got delivered and they didn’t ask me to show an ID or asked if I was the right person.
And you should be able to get it from a pickup location but FedEx isn’t that big in germany so you should expect some distance. Before delivery, mine was stored in a city about an hour away from me (with a car).
If you still want to do the pickup version, you should contact FedEx with your contact info, your ID and your order information and should be able to do that (not guaranteed though, because I’ve never used this and couldn’t choose an option like this in the shipping menu)
German here, in my case a family member signed and took the package. But I wrote a small “Vollmacht” so that I was on the save side.
