I’m a huge Tron fanboy. Love the movies, tv show, the videogames, etc. As a programmer I just really love that universe but I’m not optimistic for Ares. Even the soundtrack I was excited about because I loved Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy soundtrack but after hearing NIN’s take on it it was just…it wasn’t that great and I’m also a huge NIN fan.

I don’t think they should have showed Flynn in the trailers and I think they should have brought back his son and Corra. I’m probably one of the few people that actually loved Tron: Legacy, it’s one of my favourite films of all time but I’m bias.

I too was a huge NIN fan for a long time. I’ve even met the band!

It’s obvious to me that using the Nine Inch Nails name is a marketing tactic because it’s Tron. It’s “cooler” to have it be Nine Inch Nails because the previous soundtrack was Daft Punk.

Trent has lived in Los Angeles way too long.

As much as I love the films, they’ve never really been particularly strong in the plot department

Let Down By A Weak Script

Isn’t it a standard now? When was the last time we got a movie with a “wow” script?

I just watched Friendship this weekend and i thought it was fantastic with excellent writing. Same with Bring Her Back. I wonder what those have in common…

I wanna watch Friendship, but there’s something about it that’s keeping me from watching it. Like I feel like there’s gonna be some insane twist that turns it from a dark comedy to straight-up horror or something.

It’s brilliant, and i promise that nothing totally sinister happens. That being said, it’s like all the cringiest episodes of the office all rolled into one.

I figured there was plenty of cringe with Tim Robinson

Which, can I just say that I’m happy for him. Like he was just a writer on SNL, then was a cast member, then created his own pretty successful Netflix sketch show, and now he’s onto movies.

Wow scripts are risky and thus bad for Hollywood. You should put yourself in their shoes and understand how difficult it must be for them

I was kinda let down by the soundtrack, I was thinking new NIN will be awesome, but it was ok.

same. I really like Trent’s other movie soundtracks, especially The Social Network which was just fantastic. The Tron Ares soundtrack is just…meh. even by NIN album standards it’s really nothing to call home about and is no where near as good as Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy soundtrack.

This is exactly what most of us expected anyway so I’m looking forward to it.
