Siakam and OG have been in the news for trade talks for years. Now that Siakam is on the last year of his contract, and OG in his 2nd to last year looking for an extension soon, Masai has put himself in a hole just like he did with Kawhi Leonard, Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, Danny Green, Fred VanVleet.

Siakam is averaging less points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks from last year. He’s shooting 19% from 3. He’s having his worse season since 2018.

OG is averaging less points, rebounds, assists steals, and blocks from last year. He went from having 2.0 steals last year to 1.0 this year. This is also his worst year since 2018

Now they either have to pay Siakam a 200-300 mil contract, or sell him cheap to another team for a 3 month rental. They either have to max or near max OG, or sell him for less value than they could have a year or two ago

Masai has been the worst executive/GM since the raptors championship 5 years ago, and the Raptors are suffering in eastern conference purgatory because of him

Troll post. Masai “put himself in a hole just like he did with Kawhi…”

My dude, we won a title that year.

As a spurs fan, I am ready to throw 140M/4Y at Anunoby this summer even if it is an overpay. He’s a big diffence maker on defense especially team defense

Siakam is also shooting horrifically from 3 so far. Gonna be a tough sell for a lot of teams because he is just brutal on the spacing with his current usage.

Siakam did say he wants to re sign in toronto so honestly I feel like that is the most likely outcome. Who would trade for someone who doesn’t wanna re sign with them? Maybe it’s a tactic for more money but idk Masai in a pickle rn

There’s no reason to think that Siakam & OG (who both have gotten better every season), would get even a little bit better and raise their value this season, especially after a guy (FVV) who took away a lot of touches was gone.

I think he made the right move. Maybe a deal just wasn’t there

Meh still got that championship so I’m happy. We were mediocre before it as well lol.

Also I really need to understand from your perspective OP how he put himself in a hole with Kawhi? If anything I’d say Kawhi fumbled massively going leaving that raps team to go to the clippers.

Yea it’s too bad the Raptors didn’t trade Kawhi and didn’t get something for him. Equally bad they didn’t get something for Gasol and Ibaka who were out the league a year later.

How the hell did he put himself in a hole with Kawhi? People just say anything lol

You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about if you think this is OG’s worst year since 18 either. Just say you don’t watch the team whatsoever.

Masai has fumbled the Raptors into mediocrity. Losing Vanvleet for nothing was bad. Poeltl trade was bad. Arguably should’ve traded Siakam at his peak, but that’s tough to gauge as we don’t know what offers were made.

Everything else said by OP is false/wrong. OG is not having a down year. Other players lost were core members of championship team and were rightly kept rather than sold for cheap while the Raptors were still competitive.

Big decisions ahead for Masai. OG will likely be extended as he’s young and fits well with Barnes. We’ll see if Masai can make moves to support the next core. It’s not too late to reset for future.
