My only complaint is that it should not be just one day. It is going to be a longer haul than that. And they need to be in a row.
My additional complaint is that it should be nationwide.
The only action that will get these national companies to listen is months and months of action. Look at how Canada fucked over American liquor companies, that was effective. Tariffs have shown that companies can soak up a lot of punishment before they give a shit.
I’m in CA and will happily join in, bet I’m not the only one. I can’t go to protests but I can stand down, help push those economic numbers down.

This should be nationwide and at least a week long. Make everyone hurt, even the good guys because NOT TO ACT IS TO ACT and there are a lot of good guys not acting right now.
We’re calling it a “blackout” eh? Cool. A strike is the most effective thing to do.
Stop making money for the people who are oppressing you. Or AT LEAST stop doing it until they take their boot off your neck for a second. Stop educating their kids, stop treating their bumps and bruises, stop driving them to work. STOP SERVING THESE PEOPLE.
