      the XMPP Dino desktop app may someday be compatible with all of Movim’s new features, but it’ll likely be a while, as they appear to develop at a much slower pace in comparison (there’s a two year gap between 0.4 and 0.5).

      Pin a tab in your browser. Almost no difference to a desktop app that is a web-wrapper in most cases (and would be for sure for Movim).

          If you use a Firefox based browser, you could use the Firefox PWA project to install Movim as a Progressive Web App, which may help in making it be more separated.

          If you use a Chromium based browser, I think you can install a movim instance as a PWA natively without any extensions.
