A new milestone for audio and video calls in Movim!
Movim now detects the current status of sessions and connects you directly to the screen-sharing and video stream when you join 👌
You can also start and stop your camera or screen-sharing whenever you want ✨
Everything is now ready for the next big step: adding all these new features to Spaces and finally introducing 100% XMPP-standard audio rooms!
(There's also the SFU topic to tackle this summer 👀)

the XMPP Dino desktop app may someday be compatible with all of Movim’s new features, but it’ll likely be a while, as they appear to develop at a much slower pace in comparison (there’s a two year gap between 0.4 and 0.5).
If you use a Firefox based browser, you could use the Firefox PWA project to install Movim as a Progressive Web App, which may help in making it be more separated.
If you use a Chromium based browser, I think you can install a movim instance as a PWA natively without any extensions.
movim’s really making waves lately and i’m over here really wanting a desktop app

Pin a tab in your browser. Almost no difference to a desktop app that is a web-wrapper in most cases (and would be for sure for Movim).
i mean, sure, but i have a desktop setup rn where my browser and chat apps are in separate workspaces. :/
