It would be so awesome if it turned out they taxidermy’d his body, sat him up in a hospital bed, and forced his wife to take a picture with his dead body and today’s newspaper stuffed under his hand lol
Weekend at Michies
They could use the animatronics from Jurassic Park.
Dr. Grant’s not using them anymore.
Fascinating, but I’ll believe it when I take a bite of that man’s cold dead body.
Turtle is better as a hot soup I’ve heard
That man is a disgrace to turtles. Turtles shun him entirely!
That’s how zombie apocalypses start.
Uh, weird.
A health professional quoted in McConnell’s update said the senator developed pneumonia early in his hospitalization, though he was able to recover from it “quickly” with antibiotic treatment.
It’s interesting. They identify the quote in the press release as coming from “a health professional”. The release itself just says “from the office of the attending physician”, without any further identification of who was providing the information. Was it a doctor? A nurse? A PA? Receptionist? Janitor? Who the hell knows?
That’s not entirely strange. Commenting on the health of a patient is really restricted. There are circumstances where it’s allowed in limited capacities but I wouldn’t expect a doctor to actually provide information. That information would be updated by a doctor, compiled by a PA, and given to an administrator to clear with lawyers.
It’s locked down enough that I wouldn’t expect any different even if the request was coming directly from the patients lawyer. Being a high profile patient just means there’s more eyes making sure the statement is in line with the authorized disclosure.

Yes, but presumably, since it was part of the press release from McConnell’s office, it was fully authorized. So hiding the identity of who was sharing the information is weird.

A 100% authorized request is still going to go through hospital administration and lawyers to ensure that what’s being stated is entirely consistent with what the patient authorized for release. If McConnell authorized “had pneumonia” then that’s what they can say, and they can’t even imply “had double lung transplant”.
Beyond that, any complex patient will have multiple doctors. When the medical information is coming from four doctors under the supervision of a fifth, compiled by a PA for use by an administrator after legal approval I’m not sure it makes sense to say anything beyond “came from the office of”.
Similar to how a municipal spokesperson will read a statement regarding a crime with information from “investigators”.In an ideal world the hospital administration exists in part to shield providers from public scrutiny in cases like this. You want doctors doing doctor stuff, not formatting press releases or dealing with death threats because they did or didn’t have anything to do with Mitch McConnell being debilitated.
Probably someone asked the office of the attending physician’s AI.
I will be beyond angry to find out the Absolute Gem that was Sam Neil died and that Lich Bitch Mitch is still alive
Yeah, that’s just how the world works unfortunately. The good die young while evil lives.
Please, please, please…
Objection, hearsay.
This is gossip-grade rumouring. When a journalist does some actual verification reporting, then it’ll be news.
I listened to the actual interview he did with Katie Couric. It’s not a failure of reporting, nor hearsay.
Gov. Beshear was reporting actual calls his office has received indicating McConnell has likely died, while personally maintaining that the truth is not yet known to him. He did so within the context of personally not ever having received anything from either Mitch McConnell or McConnell’s staff beyond the one photograph and the press release the public got, despite being the governor of Kentucky and technically McConnell’s boss.
Honestly, the gov was working overtime to be understanding, and was very careful with his words, but even so he’s clearly had enough.
The interview (read the transcript if you don’t have time to listen):

Either he did or didn’t. Put it in daylight so we can see and evaluate. Dems are disgusting.
Are you confused? The Republicants are the ones hiding Moscow Mitch
Why do you think the Nazi Pedo team has to cheat to win?
Either he received calls or didn’t. Tell us who called and what was said.
Oh you’re one of those. Nevermind
