I’m living in one, or at least the 15-minute part of one. Small city in southwest England. I drive about once a week, to go out to the countryside to hike and visit a pub. Everything else is done on foot or on a bicycle. Highly recommended, despite it being totally evil. My MAGA relatives fear that I’m living in some hellish dystopia and it’s only a matter of weeks before I’ll be shot if I try to leave the city limits. They’re already spun up enough that I don’t own a gun and that I get my medical treatment on the NHS (which is under stress nationally, but still works well where I live). “Death panels,” y’know…
Now, if only the locals could figure out how to make decent Mexican food, I’d be perfectly content.
Eating less will solve food prices a bit. Just not eating will solve it entirely. And sleeping outside under a bush or in a nice box solves your housing issues. With all your problems solved we’ll be looking for you to work some longer hours.
