Whatever Russia did in Ukraine, assume that the US is doing right now in Canada. They are a hostile power.

They formented the breakaway region exactly as how the faux secessionists are doing to Alberta and the US has always had an interest is breaking Quebec and Canada up. Although they are much better at Alberta “culture” than Quebec culture.

What is this term you speak of “Alberta ‘culture’”, I’ve lived in the province for a long time and don’t understand.

Sadly they didn’t interfere with Québec’s referendums on independence as much as the federal government did :(

Didn’t say that. It’s pretty much admitted now that the federal government did a lot of shady (as in, illegal) things to prevent Québec from winning the referendums. Kinda funny to think about the US as being pro-self-determination for once, and Canada being the oppressive, anti-democratic state.

Pro-self determination by making a three paragraph question out of “do you want to separate from Canada” that imagined all sorts of insane agreements that could never happen.

Also, the US interfering is anything but self-determination. Just look at their other “pro-self-determination” interferences; it is delusional to imagine that a separate Quebec would be any different.

And everytime they try and have a vote they never show the result of said vote, likely because it would show its not working but they keep it under wraps try again, every fed pole they do show roughly 75% to 70% disagree with leaving Canada and it’s remained static. Not concerned and will be happy when smith is fired.

Nope. We even have US citizens as MPs. We have these Right Wing ironically labelled “think tanks” funded by Atlas and Koch designed to spread misinformation with the conclusion that everything is broken in Canada.

I suspect that U.S. interference in Canadian politics is true. But in this case, I also suspect that CAQ is floating this idea to undermine PQ’s chances.

Then the CAQ’s skills in this are about as good as they are in running the province, because the PQ look like they are headed for a win.
