I have the same watch, that looks really good on it. I have way too much arm hair to ever wear a flexible bracelet though, so enjoy it!

1·1 year agoBesides dial aesthetics, the most major point of difference is do you think you’d ever want to have the watch on a metal bracelet or not. I’m pretty sure the Murph doesn’t have that option, even though plenty of other Hamilton field watches do. But the Murph is meant to be more dressy than most field watches.
Defakto Transit Standard and the Defakto Kinetik Standard both stand out to me as modern minimalist watches done well.
Or the acrylic crystal on the Lorier that scratches if you look at it. I know some people are fine with crystal scratches or dealing with polywatch to buff them out, but that’s a deal breaker for me.
I still don’t love their flag logo on a lot of their watches (but better than their previous logo), but for some reason it looks especially good on this watch, I guess because it matches the simple style of the printed numerals on a field watch.
This is slightly over your $1000 budget including the metal bracelet (which you should definitely get because it’s great and helps to dress it back up when necessary) but still cheaper than the Longines Spirit 37mm.

That will look good with a long sleeve button-up shirt. That style watch is just too dressy for short sleeves no matter the size really.
It comes down to the price point, around $13,000 USD. That price point is absolutely crowded with incredible competitors.
Bulgari has only one special and interesting watch, the Octo Finissimo and its many iterations. And the design for it is polarizing. Personally I think it looks like the bracelet links are trying to swallow the watch, like something Michael Bay the Transformers director would have designed. And its biggest claim to fame is how thin it is, which is impressive technologically, but I personally don’t like how it looks being that thin. That’s my subjective take on it.
