A homage is a watch made to look like another watch.
The Daytona looks nothing like a speedmaster at all in any way aesthetically.
Sharing a certain complication and having those markers on the watch does not make something a homage watch.
That’s like saying if a watch has marked minutes it’s a homage to something.

I agree completely and so do most people:
Basically all of the cheaper ones, the San Martins etc.
Nothing wrong with them, they just didn’t provide me the joy.
And, multiple “cheap” watches aren’t actually cheap when you add them up. So what you have is 6 or 10 low end watches, when you could have two or three quality ones.
The new crystal is a few dollars, installing one is about 4 minutes. Cleaning hands 25 seconds. You should be able to get all of this done for $80 even if you are getting ripped off
(If that is rust on the hands there’s nothing you can do, it’s plated metal you can’t sand it down)
Almost every watch case below luxury level is made in China. Ditto with dials, hands, crystals etc. Even Swiss Made. A $400 Tissot is not actually made in Switzerland, other than the movement, and even then it’s just assembly required, not all the parts.
There is a reason the FHS, the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry, Eta, and others have offices in Hong Kong.

The problem is buying a Breguet at all.

The other explanation is these are just BS cover stories to test the waters and see how good their fake is.
