I’m not a fan of his either but based on recent history I believe him when he says that’s the offer the Thunder negotiated and they will leave if they don’t get EXACTLY what they want.
We have a team because Seattle wouldn’t bend over backwards so I assume that’s the same strategy Thunder ownership is using now. “We are going to be good for a few years so give us this now or we are gone”
Recently had a back and forth with the Mayor of OKC about this on X. He basically said this was the best offer the Thunder gave them after negotiations and if it’s not approved the Thunder WILL relocate, again.
I started a busbsss with 7 figure revenue and a person opened up the same business across town using an abbreviated version of my businesses name. They stocked the same products and even told customers they were associated with us.
I hired a lawyer after already trademarking all of my logos and business names. The judge said “ people will ultimately find where they meant to go and it will all work out”
I essentially lost the lawsuit because my lawyer said we should not drag this out and just get a decision from the judge.
Fast forward 5 years later and that business is still doing quite well using our likeness and has cost me literally millions in lost revenue and we continue to have to explain to vendors and customers we are not affiliated.
