He is an offensive minded player. focuses all his energy on offense, and laxes on defense, just the basic contest, swipe, or rebound when the ball goes his way.
With his athleticism, he can block, rebound, or be an offball defender, he just lazy on defense that way and conserves his energy for bursts on scoring.
I’d rather he be given a “JCrawsOver” role. Come off the bench, provide scoring when Dame/Giannis is out.
It’s not the skill, it’s the attitude and character that’s got them out the league.
Jokic, more complete, more of a threat. If you leave Giannis at the 3 point line or perimeter, and clog the lane, he’s not much of a threat.
Ty Haliburton. Not that fluid in his dribbling, though fast, has an awkward shooting form and motion, but is so effective in the game.
That’s what you get with Poole… May or may not go hot at a given moment… Doesn’t adjust his game once the shots aren’t falling… Could have gone to the hole more, facilitated more… Ego and immaturity diminishes his value.
He was good on paper, too bad, it should have stayed there and thrown in the bin… he would have been a good fit for the warriors if he was even a quarter of his potential. An athletic young big who can protect the rim and stretch the floor both offensively and defensively. Such a waste.
Problem with Poole was he doesn’t want to be 2nd to nobody… He hated the fact that he wasn’t always given the green light despite his tendencies for turnovers and bad shot making. He doesn’t want to be a part of a winning system, he wants to be the system… He will flourish in DC, will have his stats bumped up, but that will not translate to winning.
That’s what you get when you prioritize the bag and ego more than winning.
D. Rose, would carry that Grizzlies team, and he’ll be having the ball all the time.
He carried Boozer, Deng, Gibson, Noah, Korver, Scalabrine. Imagine what he could do with this Grizz team.
