Patents only benefit the corporations. If you need a patent to be successful you kind of suck. There are ways to protect your IP such as ASICS that’s are hard coded from the factory that can’t have the firmware extracted and so if someone gets the product and tears it down they will have to re-write the code from scratch rendering it a knock off that may not be the same
They don’t work you can reverse engineer anything. You just can’t steal it you can copy anything it’s just how you copy it. Like if you work there and then copy it yourself you can’t do that but you can buy their product take it apart and copy it that is legal and valid and companies do that
They will steal it anyways patents don’t protect you from reverse engineering

Sometimes people just peak at different times I’m 31 and finishing school because it’s always been a goal and I got my 2 year degree and then went to work and now I’m back to finish my undergraduate. I’ve met some great people along the way I’ve traveled to India for work. It’s strange being in school with a bunch of gen z children but I just remind myself that if it was easy everyone would do it. I want to get into sales after I graduate and like most of my life I’ve been a hands on skilled worker. Never taken seriously by management and people with degrees. Made good money despite not having a degree, but I’m doing this for me I have a GI bill to use I served 4 years in the navy so I could pay for college it’s would be a shame if I don’t capitalize on a degree I earned through life experience and get it ratified with a piece of paper! I will never fit in with those types but having both life experiences makes me confident that I can leave them in the dust, I’m just getting started! It’s important to be educated to cover all the bases with the smug employees who will shut you down. When you come at them with experience plus what they have they don’t stand on much. You can look them in the eyes and know they aren’t made of much.
I was thinking this too too many people think you gotta be the first or original. Papa John’s McDonald’s, Facebook are all based off other people’s ideas that were less good. There’s original ideas and there’s improved originality the later makes billions the former is just millions
