This question has been posed and discussed many times already this season. He’s a good but not perfect player who is not top of the league for his position but still in the upper echelon. Questions like this seem to generally come from Suns fans who inexplicably continue to take pleasure in tearing the man down even though he no longer plays on their team. Blazer fans don’t do the same with Nurkic. We are happy for his success in Phoenix and also happy to have DA on our team now. Concerns over his performance should be largely left to our fan base to debate, unless or until he becomes available for trade.

Interesting. I grew in Orlando so the Magic were my first NBA team. Was a lot of fun in the 90s and 00s but I never really saw Doc or SVG as a factor in their success. Thought they both just got lucky with great players.

First time?

He was struggling offensively and defensively when he first joined the Blazers but started finding a groove near the end of our tank. Kind of disappointed we waived him but am glad he’s on an NBA roster and doing well now.

Portland is happy with Ayton’s game. We don’t need him risking injury to get to the line, especially with Rob out. His middy and lob offense is sufficiently deadly and his most valuable contributions are rebounding and defense.
