That flop 100% deserved an air balled free throw
That flop 100% deserved an air balled free throw
I hope this keeps up. Seeing the excitement of Minnesota fans on here since they took 1st place in the west has been awesome.
Jags fans — when the Jaguars get up by 27 in a playoff game this year, it’s time to get really nervous.
A 24 second shot clock doesn’t really allow for much of a slow pace and that’s just how the league likes it.
We talk so much about boom or bust with draft picks but I would also be interested to somehow learn more about the other side of the process aka what teams do or don’t do well to support and develop their draft picks. I know the NBA has rookie programs on things like now to not spend all their money but I would be curious to see what support systems various teams put in place and what the most important factors to those are.
Here are a few:
Porzingis (I really don’t think Chuck will remember that he went to Boston)
Gary Trent Jr. Rudy Gay
Landry Shamet
Larry Nance Jr
Alex Len (callback to that funny clip of Chuck about him)
I tried to list some pretty recognizeable names that I don’t think he’ll know.
Plot twist. This is like the Jamarcus Russell story when they sent his film home with $100 in it to see if he watched it. Hopefully this guy found cash in every scouting report.
Especially since the hotel isn’t in a random place, it’s in the city the Spurs play in (obviously). That makes these scouting reports laying on the hotel floor that much more intriguing to passersby.
I think it depends on context. Dunks are typically seen as “going up stronger” than layups but the risk with a dunk is the player trying to be too flashy and just missing it altogether. Conversely, a layup is sometimes seen as the “fundamental” thing to do but other times it can be the player going up too soft. Dunks probably have a higher risk of injury too.
I would say in the NBA the players are so good that they really aren’t going to miss dunks very much so a dunk is probably better for them. At younger levels like high school it’s probably safer to shoot a layup.
This has been said before but what’s so crazy about Jordan is you can take nearly any given player’s record, award history, statistical streak, or incredible stat line and there’s a really good chance one of the people competing with the player for that unique streak, award, etc. is going to be Jordan. Like there’s all these different players in various lists and then Jordan is just in all of them.
I’m not convinced the Spurs or Jazz will try to suck (I’m assuming this means tank). I’d probably move the Grizzlies to deep playoff run. Realistically, that team isn’t making any meaningful run at a title.
Wolves are top 4 in the west
Top 5 before playing his first game is extreme but it’s nice to see these two retired “old” guys building up today’s young players instead of the usual, “He could never play back in my day” comments some of them want to shout from the rooftops.
I’d go with Steph. He obviously isn’t going to be able to back Shaq down in the post but with footwork and his very creative pump fakes, he’ll be able to get some clean looks from the post. Shaq will hit some 3s since basically any NBA player can hit them to a certain degree in practice (which is where 1-on-1s usually happen) but my guess is he isn’t able to hit enough to bet Steph.
I don’t think most Jazz fans hate him. Not sure about the Knicks. I’m a Jazz fan and vividly remember the two series against him. He beat our team in painstaking fashion but he wasn’t ever rude or demeaning about it. He and the Bulls were just better. I’ve never found him to be a “hateable” player.
Jeremy Lin if you want to count Linsanity as his prime.
His prime was simultaneously the earliest and shortest. Essentially one game as I recall.
76er fans are praying AD loses his starting spot to someone and becomes a backup this year.
Stephen Curry made a comment prior to the 2014-15 season along the lines of being the best offensive player in the league and a lot of people scoffed at how outlandish that was. Obviously, that ended up being his first MVP season. Derrick Rose in 2010-11 also.
So are triple doubles no longer cool? Seems like guys wanted to chase them over winning for a few years and now it looks like it’s gone out of style.
