Like the way he has filled out his frame. He came in about as skinny Chet and Wendy but now looks like the perfect blend of strength while still being mobile. Hopefully he’s a bit more durable from now one!

i was disappointed when the Spurs eventually had to trade Poeltl. Moving from Poeltl to Collins hasn’t been so bad

perfect non-all star big next to wemby, the jumbo lineup works very well if he can shoot like he’s been shooting recently.

he doesn’t shoot the long ball at a high volume, but was very surprised to learn his 3PT% is north of 35% since his rookie season. And 37% last yesr.

what really stood out from this clip was actually his passing. He has a great feel for passing based mainly on his defenders eyes/positioning vs based on if he can fit a pass in/actually make a pass of that nature. All his dimes here had the defender completely looking away from the ball and thus making usual angles that would be practically an easy steal an easy assist instead as the defender is really just a blind obstacle at that point. I think his role in this team as a high post, low post Divac/Peja hybrid will do wonders for a young team like this where developing ball movement and chemistry is critical during this stage of the development process. Bro just made of glass but hopefully he stays healthy…

Tons of people made fun of the spurs for giving Zach Collins this contract, he was a huge injury risk. He had played 11 games in the previous two seasons

Setting the O/U on games Collins plays this season at 14.5.

Really hoping it’s the over because he’s really fun to watch.

Hope he can stay healthy, love the way this guy plays. Reminds me a little bit of josh mcroberts in these highlights.

Always been a skilled big man, always had solid passing feel and always been mobile. What is taking his game to another level, beyond thankfully being healthy now, is the fact he’s extended his range and he’s gotten stronger. He holds his position down low far better than he had in the past defensively, rebounding better as a result, and his three ball has gone from a theoretical to a reality. He could hit the midrange but not the 3. It was coming in with the Blazers and then he had the shoulder injury and it took him time to rediscover the shot.

With the 3 ball, he now has the gravity and the respect from the outside that opens up his passing skill. He’s always had a solid post game and the extra strength makes him a better force there and as a finisher. He’s an awesome fit with Wemby. Few teams have a 4/5 combo as mobile, as skilled, as versatile.

Zach Collins has always been a competent big man, his inability to stay healthy has been what has held back his career.

He plays a very tough and physical style of basketball, he’s definitely one of those hate him when he plays against your team, love him when he’s on your team kind of guys.

I hope he does well with the Spurs.

Between the sheer frustration of dealing with wemby on top of sochan and Collins playing the spurs is going to be a massive pain in the ass.

He got a lot of hate from Warriors fans for chirping but I didn’t mind it. He was a guy I wanted the Warriors to take a shot on as a injury reclamation upside play. He does a lot of this the Warriors value from their bigs.
