I know it’s early in the season but I was checking up on all the rookies this year and I was surprised to see that the 8th and 9th picks both received basically no playing time. I get that the Pacers are trying to make a playoff push but it still seems odd that Jarace Walker only plays in garbage time. And Utah seems to have decided to give Keyonte George the green light instead and send Hendricks down to the G League

Ofc it’s only a month into the season and this could all change but it’s still odd to see top 10 picks getting the second round pick treatment

Feel like Utah is gonna trade collins at the deadline and then play hendricks more…I think he’ll be a beast in a few years

Hendricks looked raw AF in preseason (was coming off an injury and missed summer league and most of preseason I think too)

It’s just a weak rookie class in general. Most of the lottery picks haven’t played much.

Hendricks was hurt most of the offseason and looked really raw in the preseason. The Jazz like their rookies to earn their minutes and are deep in the frontcourt, so Hendricks is in the g league to develop and maximise his reps. When he’s ready we’ll likely see a Collins/Olynyk trade and he’ll move up. Jazz did the same with Ochai last year, and even for George and Kessler that started in the rotation, they had very limited minutes until they earned larger roles.

I wasn’t a huge fan of either player being drafted that high, but it does raise the question why the Jazz used the 9th pick on a guy that they feel they can’t play. The next pick was Cason Wallace who has played meaningful minutes for a team that is looking for a top 6 finish.

It’s way too early at the moment but this draft class looks very weak apart from Wemby. Not really any players showing flashes of being top scorers, but Lively and Ausar look like beasts on defense

Any Kings fans here? What happened to Davion Mitchell? He seems to be an afterthought now, as it seems that Ellis seems to have taken Mitchell’s place.
