Op is pushing chet being better than wemby so hard , yes he’s currently better but what does +- have to do with it , chet plays with a 1st team all nba guard and several above average players , wemby has vassell and that’s about it , i get the comparisons but some people are weird about it lmao

This is purely the media trying to create a narrative because everybody knows that barring some catastrophic injury ROTY is going to wemby but there needs to be the appearance of a race so they’ve got something to talk about as nauseam

I mean it is true that Spurs suck and OKC rocks, but since when did people care about that lol.

In 2003-04, the best score among rookies was Josh Howard (tbh probably the only rookie that season who was kinda winning in any way). LeBron was close to the bottom.

Last season, the winningest rookie was Christian Koloko, with a ridiculous +9 per 100 net rating in his bench episodes for average Raptors. He actually led all rookies in total score by a lot, even though he played like 13 minutes a game lol. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him mentioned.

I think scores are interesting personally, it’s the goal of the game after all (for some), but since when did anybody else care that much lol.

You forgot Simmons vs. Mitchell? Until Chet and Wemby start taking shots at each other, we are not there.

I think Chet has obviously been better, but +/- is a team stat not an individual stat.

The thunder are 2.6 points per 100 possessions better when Chet is on the floor vs when he is off. The spurs are 5.5 points per 100 possessions better when Victor is on the floor vs when he is off.

Chet is already a great player and contributing to winning basketball as the second best player on a playoff team with great offball skills, good defense, and flashes of primary creation. He’s still less important to the thunder than Wemby is to the spurs.

Again Chet’s been the significantly better shooter and more polished player and had a huge impact on the thunder but they are an all around good team. The spurs without Wemby on the floor are barely an nba team getting outscored by around 16 points per 100 when he’s not playing.

Those on/off splits aren’t true when you use Cleaning the Glass which adjusts for garbage time.

But I’m sick of this argument it’s the same talking points over and over again.

Bro half our games are garbage time. I don’t see how you can’t include garbage time in any spurs players stats lol. You’d have Vic with 15 mins a game.

Came here looking for this comment. Far better to compare individual impact to net rating when their overall teams are so diametrically opposite.

Lol you find interesting that a guy playing for the n.2 team in the conference has a much higher total +/- than the guy playing for the worst team in the conference???

Lol tell me you are a nephew without telling me.
