Probably saw Klay have an entire quarter of the court open to get him the ball quickly. Threw it a bit short of where Klay was (hence Monk having to reach down for it) assuming that a 10 year NBA vet knows to come towards the ball on a pass… alas
Still don’t think he should’ve picked it up, but it was a very reasonable pass.
Steph was doubled in the back court. He is used to double teams and usually responds by extending the dribble laterally and finding the open man for a pass. However, they hadn’t gotten the ball past half court and he didn’t want to incur the 8 second violation. Hence he picked up the dribble and made the pass to Klay.
Idk why but this was a very NFL type moment lol. Curry basically got picked off
