This was painted by David Graeber.
I for one welcome the return of David Graeber’s zombie.
I have no idea who he is, I was just making a joke saying this was a weird viral marketing campaign. Have you read his books? If so were they good and what genre were they?
Not op, but very good, kinda economic/political theory books, he was probably most famous for “Bullshit Jobs” , but “Debt: The first 5000 years” also holds up especially well.
Ah, interesting… That completely changes how I interpreted the message. I thought it was just like “stop using social media for quick dopamine, read long form books” but it’s like “stop using Twitter and learn how money actually works” type of message.
Not only that. He was an anarchist anthropologist who was very involved in the Occupy movement (he supposedly coined the “99 percent” phrase.
It’s less “learn how money works” and more “learn different ways society has been organized, which will enable you to imagine ways in which you can change it for the better”
But yeah he was a great author, highly recommend

Well an updated version would be difficult because David Graeber died in 2020. But maybe someone else can pick up the torch
In addition to what the other comments said, he also coauthored a book about the development of modern western society called The Dawn of Everything. It’s about a ton of stuff but I’d say it primarily looks at social organization and freedom. I really highly recommend it.
Often I go more towards fiction for fun reading but I’ll look into it.
Just downloaded the audio book, looking forward to it
Always has been.
do facebook too since you are at it!
I’d rather not read Facebook
No. I will stick to reading David Graeber books, thank you.

Also Jason Pargin! He’s got a new book coming out soon called There Are No Giant Crabs in This Novel: A Novel of Giant Crabs.
Also, listen to Bigfeets.
Man they were too lazy to make it a Haiku, now I can’t be bothered.
