It’s a Gloria Jones song, soft cell is a cover.
I don’t really get it
I don’t either, though this post did get me to revisit the lyrics and I discovered a mondagreen I’ve been repeating for decades. The line “I love you though you hurt me so” I somehow heard as “I love you though you’re ugly soul”, which I always thought was a strange but kind of cool turn of phrase. “though you hurt me so” is a lot more vanilla.
Still have no idea what OP is talking about. What a medium song to revisit. Not especially good, nor remarkably bad. Just… fine.
English is not my first language and I’m a C- at best at Internet vernacular… what part of the song do you mean?
How so?
I believe hes on about taint being a word for the spot between your genitals and your butt. Also known as the gooch
You mean the 1960s classic song “Tainted Love” by Ed Cobb?
Marilyn Manson did it first.
How does simply repeating the lyrics explain anything?
