Speculation of Tesla CEO’s possible departure comes as his influence in the administration appears to wane

Elon Musk is reportedly set to leave his government role because he’s tired of the what he sees as a litany of vicious and unethical attacks from the left, according to a report from The Washington Post.

It remains unclear when Musk will depart as head of DOGE; his special government employee status will expire at the end of next month. A person familiar with his thinking told The Post that Musk thinks that his work at DOGE won’t be diminished because of his departure, noting that staffers have already established themselves across a slew of federal agencies.

But speculation of Musk’s possible departure comes as his influence in the administration appears to wane. The New York Times reported last week that the acting commissioner of the IRS was being replaced after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent complained that Musk had his preferred candidate installed without Bessent’s support. Musk has also annoyed other cabinet members by failing to coordinate with them in cost-cutting moves.

So, the russian agent side quest is nearly fool proofed and he’d really prefer the wealthy genius perception return?

So we’re winning? I’d still love for him to meet his Luigi. Is that enough hate to get you to quit before you do any more damage? I can go more extreme if it isn’t.

Elon is a weird duck with delusions of grandeur who can’t understand the left’s disgust. It was the nazi salute, Elon. It’ll always be the nazi salute. All your other dank shit runs secondary to that.

He’s broken the departments investigating him and it isn’t fun anymore, he doesn’t have to be there at this point to win.

My take: He’s been told to pack his shit and doesn’t wanna admit it. He knows full well “the Left” isn’t gonna forget what he’s done.

Didn’t this happen in trump’s first term as well? Musk was right there but got the boot once people started joking about Elon being in charge

So there’s that, but also the position of “special counsel” or whatever dumb title he holds is time limited. You can’t be an unelected government official indefinitely (although I’m sure the current administration would change the rules if they cared enough to keep him). He’s making it sound like he’s bowing out, when it was the plan to step down in May from the beginning.

All the rules this administration has chosen to ignore, i refuse to believe this is the one they’re going to follow. He could always stay on as an outside contractor or whatever other bs they want to tell us. If he’s leaving, there must be a reason.

We can only wish. Was Lindell ever a billionaire? Let alone the richest person in the world?

It would certainly be very nice to see Musk in the same situation, but he still has a long way to go until that point.

I appreciate his hope that capitulation will grant him mercy, but I’m not buying a Tesla unless he kills himself.

ODing on Ketamine is quite difficult. LD50 for mice i.V. is 77mg/kg. So for an 80kg mouse that would be more than 6 grams of Ketamine given i.V. typically the bioavailability by nasal or oral consumption is lower and Musk most likely has a high tolerance. So we are talking probably 50grams or more of Ketamine for a lethal dosage for Musk.

I am not sure if Musk could actually snort enough Ketamine for a lethal dosage without it just falling back out of his nostrils or if he could swallow one without his stomach turning before it is adsorbed.

Obviously all of these numbers are speculative and taking drugs is harmful, no matter the amount. Also people often die not by ODing on Ketamine, but by killing themselves in accidents as they loose control over their muscles.

He’s taking the fall because of the lack of popularity gained by Trump.

It’s great as we won’t see his smug face paraded around the oval office.

However he need to remain vigilant as the department he helped create will not stop sitting all over the bureaucratic hardware of America.

Which is by design as bureaucrats resist change and try to come to the status quo. (I’d never thought I would write about the merits of bureaucracy).

He must be held accountable for that!
