So for you MAGAs keeping score:
-
He won’t release the Epstein Files
-
He wants to restrict the 2nd Amendment
-
He has fully abandoned his America First pledge
-
Prices are still going up
So what left to support? The corruption?
Hurting the people their influencers have led them to hate. Making insufferable charicatures and associating everyone in a movement or on a side with that person, and other such tactics. The all powerful left, supreme in government and culture, holding down good americans with their woke nonsense and replacing them with minorities.
The thing is, big business is just using these guys, and big business has always been eager to exploit illegal immigrants to undercut wages and have an exploitable workforce. Or guest worker programs, many of which are veritable slaves, that were promised one thing and delivered another when they get here.
It’s about class not race, the rich are stealing our shares, to turn us into slaves, and using race to get there. If we had opposition leadership to make that case these republicans would lose a critical mass of support.

If guns are a big problem, it sounds like there should be some sort of reform on their ownership and use.

Death cult going to death cult.
It’s a bold move cotton, let’s see if someone loses another ear.
Who lost an ear?
In the words of based Kyle Gass, “Next time, don’t miss.”
It was a great sorrow that Jack black of all people would oppose that line. Some times a rebel lives long enough to become the system.
Jack black killed the metal.
Instantly angered me that Jack did that, lost all respect for him.
You mean publicly showing a ‘friend’ he was actually an employee that was hurting the brand?
Huh, what? I’m out of the loop. What did Jack Black do?
He split Tenacious D citing that remark as a capstone for he and Gass growing apart.
He didnt split Tenacious D. He canceled the rest of the tour they were on.
He was awesome before that, he’s an occasionally entertaining clown I don’t make any special effort to watch now.
Worked for them against the Black Panthers in CA back in the 1960s with Governor Reagan. The NRA backed it.
That’s where the CA gun control stuff really started.
And why I consider most forms of gun control just racism dressed up for social benefit. Not saying all, but there are states that make it so hard to purchase a gun that’s steeped in racism of the past. Before any neo-lib comes in trying to pearl clutch, my rebuttal is “Fuck off.”
Seriously, it shocked me how many people don’t know that saga.
But for real this time, not a ketchup packet and magically regenerating geriatric cartilage.
Conservative leaders were always the more likely destroyers of 2a rights. Trump in his first term suggested removing guns from people prior to investigations about their mental state.
Authoritarianism of any stripe requires removing the ability for the proles to defend themselves meaningfully.
This is the part where conservative men bend over, spread their unwashed butt cheeks since wiping your ass is gay apparently, and they say, “I’m ready daddy Trump.”
They’ve been so fervent for gun rights over decades. This will make many people have a “wait a moment” moment.
“They’ll never take MY guns away, they’ll just take them from the bad people. Also, whoever they say are bad people, are bad people, even as that definition gets closer and closer to me every single day.”
Yeah but I dare say most will be conflicted between their gun love and Trump love. Some of them will inevitably choose diaper boy–perhaps more than anyone expects.
Well there are full MAGA cultists or fascists, who don’t really care as long as they get to own the libs, but there will be plenty of libertarians and “moderate” conservatives who for now accepted a few things, because it aligned with their views, but this will be a wake up call for them, probably even more so than if Melania or Ivanka had an abortion and Trump came out with a pro-abortion stance
There’s an interesting question. How many people has Trump thrown a lawyer at to coerce them into an abortion after an encounter? I bet we’d be surprised by how many.
The only number I’d be surprised by is “zero”.
Only a small number of people are true diehard MAGA Trumpists. Most are on the bandwagon to see the right people get hurt or are just voting as they always have in the past. Nobody has ever rocked the boat before so nobody much flinched, but now it is unavoidable. Remember: many have come forward saying to the effect that they didn’t vote for this or that thing. They wouldn’t say things like that if they were not made to feel uncomfortable.
I think we’ve all thought certain lines were crossed previously, that the lies were so blatant on x occasion, that enough minds would be changed to finally get rid of him. Each time it amounted to nothing.
I was naive enough to think J6 would stoke something in a lot of ‘patriots’ who claim to love the country above all else. Instead he won in 2024 easily…he actually gained support after trying to steal the presidency.
All of this has sapped any hope I had of his supporters abandoning him. I’ve come to see these are not logical people with similar ideals but different values than me. They just vote against what they fear, they vote for certain people to get hurt, and they love being followers. Such is his grip, and I’d be surprised if even the 2A being undermined by the administration can move the needle to a sufficient degree with enough people to make any difference in November.
That said I would love to be pleasantly surprised. I hope you’re right, truly.
EDIT: Sp
almost all authoritarian more or less banned guns the moment they took power.
Well well well, this is quite the self-inflicted injury😂(talking about right-wingers here)
