    That’s really good for only the second time of shooting!

    Another poster suggested dry firing, which is good practice that can be done away from the range and helps handling the gun become second nature (better with a snap cap so you also practice handling bullets and mags too, IMO). I’d also suggest checking out Tacticool Girlfriend’s YouTube video about countering flinching, which is a natural reaction and can cause grouping to drop (it happens to me really badly with full load 45ACP)

    Looking good! Try practicing dry firing and see if you can catch where you’re canting downward. I’d bet you’re squeezing down with your ring and pinky finger on your trigger hand. I also want to suggest that most common body armor can defeat handgun rounds. The wearer isn’t going to be happy about it, mind you, but it probably won’t mean shit if your bad guy has invested in some plates. Have you perhaps considered a shotgun with double ought or triple ought buck? There’s several meaningful advantages over a handgun to think about there.

          Eh, as someone with hyperlexia, it’s just a bit frustrating trying to read non-standard English. It sometimes takes me a while to figure out what the user actually meant when using the wrong written form of a homophone.

          I think it’s partially because I don’t really hear speech in my head, so the jump from “it’s” to “its”, for example, is not obvious to me unless I slowly read it out loud.

          I know English is a silly language with even sillier rules, but my brain expects it to be written out a certain way and stops parsing if that doesn’t happen.

          I’ve definitely blocked at least one person who had extremely poor English on here before, but not out of spite, simply because they brought me no value beyond just wasting my reading time until my brain eventually goes “I can’t read this 🙃” and gets frustrated. IIRC they were writing in very abbreviated English with a ton of typos and homophone mistakes.

          If a person’s post isn’t good enough to proofread, it isn’t good enough to read.

          And if they proofread it and don’t catch the error, they’re either a bot or a moron, and I’m better off seeing neither.

        It’s definitely more than it was 10 years ago. Even so, I don’t wanna block people. I just want them to know more about the stuff they use every day. Everyone deserves to have the ability to convey their ideas effectively.

      My rule is contractions only. I don’t even use use it for possession (eg Jake’s car) because you can always pick that up just fine from context (Jakes car).

        You kinda have to use the apostrophe for possession though. It reads terribly without it.

        If the name ends in an S, you leave a floating apostrophe.

        If the name does not end with an S, you place an S after an apostrophe.

        The only time an S without an apostrophe is valid is when indicating plural. If the noun ends with an S, you do not have to change anything.

      Sadly, it’s necessary. Lots of people are coming after the LGBTQ+ community. If someone ever tries to kill/hurt someone in the community, the community must be prepared.

            I’ve always been a big fan of the LP’s porcupine. Sends a very clear message of “Don’t fucking touch me”. They even had some rad as fuck rainbow porcupine shirts back before they gave up pretending they were just a shelter for embarrassed Republicans. I’d love to see it get taken from them, and I think it works because I think most folks associate the no step snek with the libertarians far more than the porcupine.

            Edit: The honey badger or wolverine, maybe?

          They might not know. But it might be too late to convince them otherwise, specially when they already in the attack. Unfortunately, we can’t fix everyone’s idea on the LGBTQ+ community.

          Just one more thing. Just because OP is training to use a gun, and others practice other ways of self defense, it doesn’t mean they want to use violence. But it’s better to learn to do something, than to not know how to do it when you need to the most.

                  Well, it won’t. What COULD fix everything is Mutual Aid. People helping people. You can start building the world that you want to see right now, and right here, inside of the shell of the old world. Once people have their basic needs met, a sort of chain reaction take a place. People become aware that they can have it better. Then they realize who is standing in their way. Everything after that is up in the air.
