I thought the rock to the left of the picture was the hamster and assumed they buried something that was not a hamster.
Plot twist : the family barely knew a thing about animals, which is how they wound up with a capybara named “Rascal.”

The grave size + name suggests it was a pet cat or dog, but it was an enormous hamster.
I get that part but what’s the joke? Is the “hamster” actually a human body and they’re trying to cover up a murder?
It’s just misdirection, I guess. Up until the last word it’s reasonable to assume it was a dog or something
