    Two years ago my partner was murdered. She was trans and her family didn’t have anything to do with her. Her half siblings were her legal next of kin, and neither myself nor any of her other partners had any rights, so we couldn’t do anything like make her proper funeral arrangements.

    Her bio “family” I guess didn’t know much about her personality, and chose an image off Instagram for her memorial photo. In it, she’s smiling broadly with big beautiful eyes. Her shoulders are bare and it’s conceivable she’s wearing a strapless top or dress.

    They posted an actual nude thirst trap on the funeral home memorial page, and it’s there to this day. The glimmer in her eye was pure lust.

    My gosh, this image is so inappropriate. It looks like it was clipped from some sort of disgusting video. I mean, where would someone even go to watch this completely inappropriate video?

    FFS, self censoring has moved beyond offensive or just naughty words, into i don’t even know what territory this is. I’m just disappointed.

      If I make a social network, one of my rules will be that you cannot self censor.

      For example, “Politicians be f*cking stupid” would give a warning. “Politicians be fucking stupid” would not.

      If the message itself is disagreeable, it gets punished based on content - but it wouldn’t apply purely by use of a word.

      The most annoying thing to me is that it’s not even fucking censored… It’s about as censored as a pasty on an H cup titty that’s covering half a nipple and 2% of areola…

        It’s bending over backwards to corpos.

        It’s hidden enough that machine detection algorithm can’t figure it out, but a human can easily understand whats there.

        I’m not a porn prude or anything, I watch it every so often it’s whatever. But it’s crazy to me that people know random actors/actresses names outside of maybe the really big ones like Mia. Maybe if you were in the business as a career so you actually ran into them or something.

        Not that you knew who she was off your head, just saying in general there are people like that and it’s kinda weird.

          To me porn and non-porn actors are the same: I remember them if I see them enough times to think “who are they?”

          Especially if you search anything beyond “[amateur] porn”, you’re bound to see the same actors time and again.

      I’m down to three living relatives: my father, a sister, and a brother. I can tell you the most recent photo each of those people has of me:

      • My father - 7th grade yearbook photo from the '90s.
      • My sister - When I was an usher at her wedding 15 years ago.
      • My brother - A selfie I posed with him for on his first day of college 18 years ago.

      I’ve occasionally been caught in candids or group photos with friends since then, but it’s very rare because I usually offer to shoot the photos for everyone else. And it’s not like my family know who my friends are or how to contact them.

      So, yeah, if I died tomorrow, I literally don’t think they could have a photo of me at the funeral.
