“One of the things that we heard last night, resoundingly across the country, is that we are in … a new movement in this country,” Flanagan said. “Many of us were elected who refused corporate PAC money, who are beholden only to the people who elected us and are ready to fight for bold change. And so I think it’s time for new leadership.”

The Senate majority leader should have a fucking pulse.

I find it important because she’s relatively moderate and from a safely blue state this election. I’m glad to see it’s not just Bernie, El-Sayed, etc. calling for it

Also she’s my senator, so I’m proud of that

If you can’t convince your imaginary average family to vote for your party, how in the hell does he expect to be able to whip together senate votes?

Voters across the board are sick of the status quo. Fuck Jeffries and Schumer’s establishment grip on our Democratic Caucus! It’s time for new leadership that delivers BOTH real justice and real economic relief for ALL citizens! Leaders like Peggy Flanagan prove they actually understand why this moment demands real change.

so, if ms flanagan would’ve been a status-quo democrat, you would’ve voted for the zero qualifications media personality who praised and defended the fed’s assault on the nation’s cities to the point of using ice footage in her campaign ads and only changed her tune after they murdered two minnesotans?

ms flanagan won because she is well liked, well respected, and has done a good job wherever she’s been… and was the most qualified person on the ballot

Sir, as one of your constituents I do not feel as though you have acted in accordance with the needs or the will of the people who elected you into office, but rather submitted to the demands of private interests and corporate donors. Your actions, or often lack of action, have caused harm at worst and at best kept positive change from happening. I respectfully ask that you step down and allow the next generation of leadership to enact the will of regular Americans.

        Sincerely, dhork.

They work for a piece of shit. You gonna be polite to a Nazi general because he’s just doing his job? Making all his staff quit would go a long way toward making him actually fuck off, rather than getting your polite “fuck off” message politely delivered to the nearest trash bin so they don’t get fired.

Except that’s not how it works at all. The staff will just delete your message. They’re used to getting death threats and all sorts of fucked up things that they have to report to law enforcement. Nothing you can say would make them quit without also risking prison for yourself

You’re not wrong. My point is that lots of staffers work for shitbags, and to be fair, lots of staffers are shitbags. But if you want your voice to be logged and show up on a chart that might tip the scale, one path might work better than the other.

If he hasn’t already felt how incredibly unwelcome he is, you can politely figure out a way to tell him to “go fuck himself”.

Bully tactics is how people like him ended up in power. Start there. End with a hug and make sure it doesn’t happen again. Better yet, give what’s left of this land back to the natives. They did it better. #LANDBACK

Electing some natives to high offices like New Mexico did is a good start, as long as it’s not done blindly. Power corrupts and they’re just as corruptible as any other human beings are. It’s about deeds, not words, but even dishonest words often contain red flags warning of future deeds. Don’t feel too bad if you get scammed by any given politician, they’re crafty devils, but it doesn’t matter how regularly or how badly you get scammed by the best of them, you’ve still got a responsibility to try to figure out which ones have some truth and respectability left in them.

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted: it’s true, as a matter of Senate rules. Majority and minority leaders are picked by party caucus, not the Senate as a whole.

Bernie is a part of the Senate Democratic Caucus, even in the leadership, but they’re not going to hand the chair to an independent.

Quick reminder that Minnesota is a state with a left party independent from the DNC.

They caucus with, and accept money from the DNC, but the DFL has always been slightly more to more progressive than the DNC.

Minnesota is a unique state looking at it. Something about it.

Significant rural population that almost exclusively votes conservative (for reasons that don’t entirely make sense). From what I hear, there are a LOT of anarcho-communist groups throughout the state. They take education and hunger seriously. There’s a LOT of really rich people though.

I strongly believe thats why Walz and the State were targeted so hard by Trump. A state that naturally opposes authoritarianism is an anathema to the regime.

          It’s not natural…

It was a red state when Martin started running DFL

He turned it purple then blue because he stopped standing in front of progressives and focused on fair primaries so the candidates most popular with dem voters made it to the general…

And what happened Tuesday nationally, was what happened in Minnesota.

It’s not a fluke, it’s not anything “natural” about Minnesota, it’s the simple fact that progressive policy is what voters want.

And the voting members of the DNC realizing that, is why they picked Martin for DNC vhair. To do nationally what he did in Minnesota: stand back and let voters pick their candidates.

It’s clear that the Democratic Voters are loudly demanding a new direction in America, and that starts with new leadership who understand their mission, and Israel is not part of it. We didn’t go through all this trouble to get rid of MAGA control, to just fall under Israeli control instead. We thought we’d have to fight one enemy, only to find out there’s another enemy right behind them.
